Premier League is BACK!

There is a hot debate about which league is the best in the world. The top five leagues in the world are Serie A (Italy), La Liga (Spain), Bundesliga (Germany), Ligue 1 (France) and The Premier League (England).
But the number in my opinion is The Premier League, because the competition is so good, the league is very hard to predict and the teams are so competitive that you just can tell which way a match will end.

After a week of International football, which might be the most boring time for football fans. As much as we love our national teams it has nothing against club football. Watching your favorite team play in your league is something special. But this International break was no different, even though Europe has their qualification matches for the European Championship teams like Malta, Faroe Islands and Liechtenstein is playing, the competition is nowhere near as good as league football. The qualification stage of International football can be very boring, unless you play a team like Spain or France where big time players are playing.

But most of the times International breaks means boring games and a 2 weeks wait for premier league to return.

So this weekend Premier League was back and waking up at 7 in the morning is not a problem anymore. Due to the time difference the games are very early here in the US, there is one early game at 6.30 am and then several at 9 am and usually on at 10.30 am. But it is worth the early weekend mornings because you get to watch some quality football. This weekend brought us a big surprise when the newcomers Norwich defeated the defending champions Manchester City. Which is just why the league is so good, a team that no one believes is going to win defeats the defending champions just like that.

“Patience”

As a football player injuries is a part of the game. Although we do everything we can to prepare ourselves a injury always comes at a bad time. Suffering a bigger injury could mean the end of a season.

In the last pre-season exhibition game I was tackled by the opponents forward and sprained my ankle and tore out the ligaments. So I am walking out to the first game of the season with crutches.
Even though I can’t play I’m still part of the team so I will still sit on the bench and make sure the players do what they need for the team.

Going forward from here for the next couple of weeks I will be doing a lot of ankle rehab, so I can come back stronger than before and help the team to a new championship. Hopefully I my rehab period will be short and I can come back to full training soon.
I just need to fight harder and I take inspiration from Swedens best football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He suffered a big injury in 2016 where the doctors thought his career was over. But he wanted differently, Ibrahimovic fought back and is now on of the best players in MLS, on the injury he said: “They said it was over, I said NO”.
